Depending on where you are, your shelter in place could be just starting or you might be pushing into your third week by now. As for me, the first week is nearing an end and like the rest of the America, I binged watched Tiger King, stared at my phone for far to long, and
cleaned things I've never thought of cleaning before. I also took some time to explore a photography tool I picked up months ago and just haven't made time to utilize yet. So in an effort to distract myself and my daughter, this is our exploration of macrophotography.
Movo makes a handy tool called the EXT-C5, it allows you to mount your standard telephoto or prime lens in reverse. When I purchased it I was skeptical of how it would work, but after spending an afternoon taking extreme close up shots with the help of my wonderful kiddo, I'm quite impressed. Getting proper focus can sometimes be challenging and the depth of field it gives on the macro photos can be quite impressive as well.
But enough gibber jabber, let's see the photos! Can you guess what each one is?
Getting hungry yet?
How about now?
From top to bottom, the sweet peppers were a nice snack after slicing them up for that photo. They didn't last long. After that, its bread, good ole' fashioned organic whole wheat bread. The third photo is pretty obvious, a strawberry. Then one of my favorite foods, and definitely my daughters favorite to add to an omelet, fresh broccoli. Following the broccoli is asparagus.
Now here are a few non food items. Some of these will likely be easily recognizable.
Moving down the line, a screw, some driftwood, a geode, a hairbrush, the tip of a succulent, and my girlfriends makeup brush. The hair in the brush from this perspective kind of grosses me out...
All of this object photography eventually shifted into something a little different. A bit more artistic and psychedelic. In the words of my daughter, "Whoa! This is so cool!".
The setup was quite simple and it was fun to watch our creation shift and morph. These photos will be available for purchase in my print store. If you don't already, hop over to my Instagram and Facebook pages and give them a like and follow, also check out the other options available in my print store, your support is incredibly appreciated!
Stay safe, healthy, and sane out there!
